How about some delicious oatmeal chews? Combine ? cup of whole wheat flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 3 cups of oatmeal and 2 Tbsps of honey. Add in 2 egg yolks and a cup of cold water, making sure the batter is smooth without any lumps in it. Bake for 15 minutes in 350?F. Cool the treats and cut into cookie sizes you can bag and feed your pet anytime.

Do you have perhaps a more mature dog with a weaker set of teeth on them? This doesn?t mean they can?t have tasty treats. Here is a recipe for chewy cookies perfect for these wizened fellows. Blend ? cup dry milk powder, ? cup wheat germ with 2 ? oz jars of baby food (chicken or beef flavored is fine). Roll out to make little balls and spread onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350?F for 15 minutes.

We cringe when we have liver in our dinner plate but this is actually a great treat for canines. It?s economical and really easy to make. All you need to do is to simply combine 1 lb liver (chopped and pureed) with 2 cups cornmeal, 1 cup of flour and 1/3 teaspoon of salt. Roll out onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes in 350?F. When done and sufficiently cooled, cut in small squares for quick snacking.
