Guide For An Electrician

By Scott Rodgers

This new era of technology is basically based on electronic gadgets. So proper installation of electric network is very important in homes and this calls for a proficient electrician.

The main heart of connection is wire. Hence, using wire of appropriate diameter is must to assure proper flow of current. If the electrician uses a small diameter wire and flow of current is high, the wire will not be able to bear the load. It could result in sparks or fire. So care must be taken by electrician in choosing the wire size according to the amount of current flow.

Switches in the house should be checked against loose connection. Sometimes, we notice spark coming from a switch when we on/off the switch. This kind of malfunctioning should be repaired as soon as possible.

During cables fixing, the wires should be properly checked against any rip. The cable should be sealed in a thick tube or anything like that to protect it from external cuts or damage.

All connections should be made inside connection box only and there should be limited wires in a box. The size of box is decided by some factors and guidelines. Hub of wires in a single box can cause short-circuit and may result in a fire hazard. Moreover, a connection box prevents wires from all external harmful effects.

Connections should be done with a wire of proper length and if wires are short than required, they should be extended. Connections should be proper. Wires should not be stretched very tightly that cause a breakdown or upset the connection.

Now a days, under wall or underground wiring is preferred. Electricians should take care of wire and connections while doing this kind of wiring against any wear and tear. This kind of wiring is most safe, as it is away from all the external consequences.

All of the above paragraphs describe the common precautions to be kept in mind by an electrician and there are many more in the list. So we need to make sure that the electrician we are hiring should have knowledge of all theses to ensure our safety because ultimately "One's safety is in his own hands". - 29957
